AC/DC motors are wound motors that run on either AC or DC supply, making them the most flexible motor in the range when supply type is uncertain or varies across markets.
Key advantages
Series wound on AC delivers approximately 15% more output compared to a DC unit at the same voltage.
Both the series and shunt wound motors are designed for reversing.
With shunt motors the difference between no load and full load speed is between 10% and 20% of the rated speed.
Non-standard shafts, terminal boxes, and double-ended spindles. Configured exactly to your specification.

Parvalux: AC/DC Motors
Parvalux AC/DC motors are wound motors, supplied in series wound and shunt wound configurations, and both reverse as standard. Series wound motors deliver approximately 15% more output when wound for AC supply than an equivalent DC unit, with speed that varies inversely with load. Shunt wound motors run at near-constant speed, the difference between no-load and full-load speed being just 10% to 20% of rated speed, with speed control of up to 25:1 available via a DC thyristor controller on an AC supply.
Why this brand
Parvalux AC/DC universal motors are available in series wound and shunt wound configurations. They suit applications where variable speed, reversing, or precise torque control are essential. Series wound motors deliver higher torque and more output at lower cost when running on AC. Shunt wound motors offer near-constant speed with wide-range controllability via thyristor or variable resistance. Both types are highly customisable.
